Documents heritage
Places, stories, and memory, before they are lost.
AN SDC INITIATIVE · COMMUNITY DOCUMENTATION
The Arab Haifa Map is a community documentation project that records and amplifies Arab Haifa: its heritage, its stories and places, the realities of how the community lives the city today, and the future it intends to author. It documents the city through the eyes of its Palestinian Arab community: not only what was, but what is, and what should be.
Parts of Arab Haifa, including neighborhoods, landmarks, and the memory attached to them, are at risk of disappearing. The Map documents what exists, what is threatened, and what is changing, so that this heritage is preserved and the community's ongoing presence and stake in the city remain visible.
Places, stories, and memory, before they are lost.
How the community actually lives Haifa now.
The city the community intends to author, not one dictated to it.
The Map uses community-based documentation methods to record places, stories, and living realities across Arab Haifa. SDC to confirm methods
